Vice Mayor Martinez Calls for Answers from AGs Office on Loudoun Investigation

LEESBURG, VA - Following newly leaked revelations that the Office of Attorney General Jason Miayres plans to use the political investigation into Loudoun County to make “the AG look good” and expectations within the OAG of promotions for those that do so, Vice Mayor of Leesburg Marty Martinez released the following statement:

“The decisions made by Attorney General Miyares in his first weeks are alarming. It appears that this Attorney General has no intentions of benefitting anyone but himself on the other side of this. Using the tragic events in Loudoun for pure political gain and rewarding those in his staff that score the most political points is a downright dangerous climate.

I am asking for transparency from AG Miyares on the nature of this email from the special assistant to the Attorney General for investigations and a commitment to justice, not political theater, for the citizens of Virginia.”
